March 22nd marks World Water Day, an opportunity to reflect on the importance of this essential resource and the urgency of adopting sustainable practices to protect it. Established by the United Nations in 1992, this day aims to raise public awareness about access to clean water, the sustainable management of water resources, and the challenges posed by climate change and pollution.
Water is life. It is the foundation of all human activities, from agriculture to industry, and our daily lives. Yet, more than two billion people worldwide still lack access to safe water sources, while global water consumption continues to rise at unsustainable rates.
Citrusmade’s Commitment to Water Conservation
At Citrusmade, we are deeply aware of the value of water and the impact our industry can have on water resources. That’s why we adopt responsible practices across our entire supply chain, aiming to reduce water consumption and preserve this precious resource. One example is our advanced systems for collecting and reusing rainwater in our production processes.
Some of Our Initiatives
-
Low-impact water agriculture: We select raw materials from organic, local farms that use targeted irrigation techniques and take advantage of the soil’s natural moisture to minimize external water input.
-
Water recovery and reuse: In our production processes, we optimize water consumption through closed-loop systems, which help reduce waste and maximize reuse.
-
Sustainable production: We invest in innovative technologies to extract essential oils, juices, and fruit compounds more efficiently, using less water than traditional methods.
Water is a shared resource that belongs to everyone. Preserving it means ensuring a more sustainable future for the next generations. On this World Water Day, we renew our commitment to protecting water and continue to do our part for a more balanced and respectful relationship with our planet’s natural resources.
